Secure Wireless Client - Windows XP
These following instructions are for setting up a secure wireless
connection for the Windows XP operating system.1.
Download Secure Wireless Client
- Using Internet Explorer, connect to the wireless login website,
http://login.wireless.unlv.edu.
- Left click on Download Quick-Connect L2TP Client for Windows XP Users
- When the File Download Security Warning appears, left click the Run
button.

2. Security Warning
- If you receive a message that the publisher could not be verified,
click Run.

3. Install Secure Wireless Client
- When the unlvwireless dialog box appears, click Yes.

4. Install options
- Another unlvwireless dialog box will appear, select:
- All Users
- Add a shortcut on the desktop
- Click Ok

5. Run Secure Wireless Client
- Double click the newly created desktop icon Shortcut to unlvwireless
- This icon will be used to connect your computer to
the wireless network, so you don’t need to type your
account information in the top left corner of the
wireless login website.

6. Enter credentials and connect
- Type in your registered username and
password. After you have entered your
account information, you can check:
- Save Password
- Connect Automatically
- Save these credentials for my use
- Click Connect
- If you are in range of a UNLV wireless Access Point, the client will log
into the campus
network. Your account will be verified and you will see a message in the
system tray that you are connected.
